ROLLS
Privacy Policy, Terms of Service & Content Guidelines · Last updated 13 June 2026 · Operated by Iurii Dombaev (“ROLLS”, “we”, “us”). Contact: support@rolls-skating.com
1. About this document
ROLLS is a freemium inline-skating (rollerblading) learning app that helps you browse tricks, track your progress, get personalised recommendations, find skating spots on a map, and save clips of tricks. It is available on Android, iOS and the web.
This document is the combined Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Content Guidelines for ROLLS. By creating an account or using ROLLS, you agree to it. The service is provided by Iurii Dombaev, the data controller, and is intended to be used as is.
2. Information we collect
Account & profile
When you sign in we create an account using Firebase Authentication. Depending on how you sign in we receive: a user ID, your email address, your display name, and (for Google sign-in) your account profile image. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple’s private relay address — not your real one. You can also use the app as a guest, in which case no account is created.
Learning activity
To power progress tracking and recommendations we store the tricks you mark as learned (your mastery history, kept as timestamps), your chosen skill category, your preferred language, and your app preferences.
Clips you save and submit
ROLLS lets you save links to short skating videos hosted on third-party platforms (such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram) and attach them to tricks. We store the link you provide and related metadata. We do not host the videos or their thumbnails — thumbnails are streamed live from the source platform and dead links are retired automatically. Clips you submit may be reviewed and, if approved, shown to other people in a community library.
Skating spots (location)
The places map shows skating spots. To centre the map on you, the app requests your device location (or, on the web, browser geolocation). This is used at the moment you ask for it and is not continuously tracked. If you submit a skating spot, the coordinates and details you enter are stored so the spot can appear for others.
Device, usage & diagnostics
We collect standard analytics and (if enabled) crash diagnostics through Firebase: app events (e.g. screens viewed, a trick marked as learned), an analytics/advertising identifier, device and OS information, app version, language and approximate country. Subject to your consent, advertising identifiers may also be processed for ads (see sections 6 and 7).
Purchases
If you buy ROLLS Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. We receive a purchase token / receipt which our backend validates with Apple or Google to confirm and restore your entitlement. We never receive or store your full payment-card details.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the app: authentication, progress tracking, recommendations, the places map and clips.
- To remember your preferences, language and chosen category across devices.
- To grant and restore ROLLS Pro after a purchase.
- To measure and improve the app through analytics, and to diagnose crashes.
- To show advertising (in the free tier) and to honour your consent and privacy choices.
- To keep the community safe — reviewing submitted clips and acting on reports.
- To communicate with you about support requests, takedown requests and important changes.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (operating your account and the features you use), consent (analytics where required, personalised ads, and device location — which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and basic measurement), and legal obligation (responding to lawful requests and rights-holder takedowns).
5. Sharing & third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run ROLLS, who may process it on our behalf and are obliged not to use it for any other purpose:
- Google Firebase — authentication, analytics and crash reporting.
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free tier (see section 6).
- Apple & Google — sign-in and in-app purchase / billing.
- Video platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and similar) — when you open or preview a clip, your request goes to that platform under its own privacy policy. We pass the link only; we do not host the content.
- Hosting & map providers — our application backend, and the map tiles used to render the places map.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce these Terms, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or the public.
6. Advertising & consent
The free tier of ROLLS shows ads served by Google AdMob. ROLLS Pro removes ads.
In the EU, UK and Switzerland we show a Google-certified consent message (UMP) before serving personalised ads, in line with GDPR and Google Consent Mode. On iOS we also present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you do not allow tracking, ads are limited to non-personalised. You can review or change your ad-privacy choices at any time from the app’s privacy options. Buying ROLLS Pro removes ads entirely.
7. Analytics & your choices
You control diagnostics from Settings in the app:
- Analytics — turn off to stop sharing usage analytics.
- Crash reports — turn off to stop sending crash diagnostics.
Where consent is required, analytics collection only begins after you have made your privacy choice. Turning these off does not affect the core functioning of the app.
8. Where your data is stored & transfers
Your account and learning data are stored on our application backend hosted in the European Union (Germany), and in Google Firebase. As part of a global service operated with providers such as Google and Apple, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Wherever it is processed, we protect it in line with this policy and applicable safeguards for international transfers.
9. Retention & account deletion
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time:
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, mastery history, saved clips, submitted spots and preferences. Email requests are completed within 90 days, in line with the Google Play account-deletion policy, and you receive a confirmation. Some records may be retained where the law requires it. Content already published to the community and reviewed for safety may persist in aggregated or moderated form after an account is removed.
10. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict and object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Under the California CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know, delete and correct your information and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” — we do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@rolls-skating.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
11. Children’s privacy
ROLLS is not intended for anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@rolls-skating.com so we can take the necessary action.
12. Terms of Service
By using ROLLS you agree to these Terms. ROLLS grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to break its security, scrape or resell its content, or use it in any unlawful way. We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these Terms or harms other users.
The app, its content and its branding are protected by intellectual-property rights and remain owned by ROLLS and its licensors, except for content you submit. The service is offered as is and we may add, change or remove features over time.
13. Your content & community clips
ROLLS lets you save, link and share certain material — primarily links to skating videos hosted on third-party platforms (“Content”). You are responsible for the Content you add, including its legality, reliability and appropriateness.
By submitting Content you represent and warrant that: (i) it is yours or you have the right to use it and to grant us the rights described here; and (ii) submitting it does not violate the privacy, publicity, copyright, contract or other rights of any person or entity. You grant ROLLS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host the link/metadata, display the live thumbnail, and show the Content within the app, including to signed-out users in the community library.
Reporting & takedown. Every community clip has a report option. We act on reports and may remove or permanently suppress Content. If you are the creator of a clip and want it removed, use the in-app creator-takedown option or email us — verified creator and rights-holder takedown requests are treated as priority and the video is pulled immediately. Content that is removed for a creator takedown will not be re-published, even if other users have saved it. Rights-holders can also reach us at support@rolls-skating.com (see section 20).
14. Content guidelines
When adding clips or other Content to ROLLS, please follow these guidelines:
- No explicit, hateful, harassing or otherwise forbidden content.
- No content featuring minors in an inappropriate way; do not submit content of people under 18 without the right to do so.
- Only submit links you have the right to share.
- We reserve the right to remove any Content we determine to be inappropriate or not in keeping with the spirit of the service.
- ROLLS is a community; the health and safety of that community is our highest priority.
15. Purchases & ROLLS Pro
ROLLS Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase (product pro_upgrade) that unlocks Pro content and removes ads. ROLLS 4.0 does not use recurring subscriptions. Some long-standing users keep legacy Pro access.
Purchases are sold and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region. Billing, taxes, refunds and payment disputes are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. You can restore a previous purchase on a new device from the paywall’s “Restore” option.
16. Safety & assumption of risk
Inline skating is a physical activity that carries an inherent risk of injury. ROLLS provides instructional content for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional coaching or medical advice. You are responsible for skating within your ability, wearing appropriate protective equipment, choosing safe locations, and complying with local laws. Spots shown on the map are user-submitted and may be inaccurate, private or unsafe — verify before skating. By using ROLLS you acknowledge these risks and agree that you skate at your own risk.
17. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ROLLS and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the app, the instructional content, third-party content, or any skating activity. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
19. Changes to this document
We may update this Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Content Guidelines from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above; significant changes may also be highlighted in the app. Please review this page periodically. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of ROLLS means you accept them.
